Changing seasons call for changing up your look. Try out these tips and tricks for a fresh look this season.

Do a faux bob: This hairstyle let’s you go short for the day, no scissors required.

1. While hair is damp, apply a volumizing spray to the root of the hair. Blow dry smooth using a round brush.

2. Once hair is completely dry, curl 1-inch sections of hair, starting from the back, using a 1 or 1 1/2-inch curling iron, or make waves with your flat iron (YouTube has tons of tutorials).

3. Work your way to the front of your hair. Patience is key; the more curls you create, the better the results.

4. Once the hair is curled, apply a small amount of shine serum to your hands and run your fingers through your hair to break up curls.

5. Tie a hair elastic at the very end of your hair. Roll the hair under the elastic and tuck toward the nape of the neck. Be sure to spread the hair evenly in a horizontal direction, creating a bob. Leave sides of hair out to further create the illusion of the bob.

6. Secure with as many bobby pins as needed and apply an even coat of hairspray.

Go bold with your brows: A bold brow enhances your eyes and adds definition to any face shape.

Shaping
The inside of your brow should be aligned with the inner corner of nose and the inner corner of your eye, according to Benefit Brow Bars. If you want an arch, line up a pencil from the outside corner of your nose to the outer corner of your pupil — that’s where it should reach its highest point. To mark the end of your brow, line up the pencil from the outer corner of your nose with the outer corner of your eye.

Filling
If you’re happy with the shape of your brows, use a brow pencil to enhance and bring out their natural arch. Anastasia products specialize in brows, which can be found at Sephora. Check out the best-rated brow products here.

Switch up your specs: Glasses come in all shapes and styles, giving you the option to go with both subtle and bold frames. If you’re more inclined to one type, switch it up.

Bold lips: A statement red lip shows confidence and give a touch of glamour to your casual look. Red lips flatter all skin tones and adds a dose of femininity.

According to lipstick queen, Poppy King:
• Blondes look best in shades of red with a yellow-based undertone. Try M.A.C Lipstick in Lady Bug ($16.50).
• Brunettes can opt for a blue-based red, such as Estée Lauder Pure Color Lipstick in Hot Kiss ($30).
• It’s a misconception that redheads shouldn’t wear red lipstick. Bright, flame-red hair is best suited to bluer reds, while those with a deeper, more auburn colouring can experiment with warm-based tones, like Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited in RD198 ($28).
• Shades with orange undertones flatter tanned complexions.
• Whatever shade you choose, it should contain as little shimmer as possible.
• If you’re shopping for cosmetics on a budget, take note of what colours apply to you and ask a sales associate for some budget friendly options

Switch up your part: Mix up your look with a side part, or try wearing a bold center part. You can also play with volume by creating a zig-zag part down the center, alternating which side of the part your hair falls.
