Internet services are still down in many campus buildings following a storm and consequent power outage this morning. Queen’s Information Technology Services (ITS) aren’t able to provide a time and date for when Internet services will be fully functioning across campus.

AMS Information Technology Manager Chris Whelan said that to his knowledge, most areas at the university suffered some form of Internet loss today, but many have had their Internet restored by ITS.

“Tricolour Outlet for example didn’t have any connectivity this morning, but they are fine now,” Whelan, Sci ’11, said.

Dupuis Hall, where ITS is housed, now has functioning internet, as do high traffic areas like the Queen’s Centre and the lower ceilidh of the JDUC near the Walkhome desk.

Other areas around Kingston suffered power outages after a tree broke a hydro pole at Pine and Chatham Streets this morning.

ITS could not be reached for comment.
