Evening classes cancelled due to weather

This afternoon, the University announced that all evening classes would be cancelled due to expected inclement weather and freezing rain.

The University announced the cancellation on their website. “For discipline specific training (clinical, practicum, etc.) please contact the individual Faculty/School,” the announcement reads. “For information on other university programs, events and activities please check with the organizers.”

Environment Canada warned about the weather this afternoon on their website. They said there was an extended period of freezing rain — with several millimetres of accumulation — that arrived this afternoon and into this evening.

“Roads and walkways may be hazardous due to slippery conditions,” they wrote. “Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Utility outages may occur.”

Classes are scheduled to resume as planned tomorrow morning.
