Calling all makeup junkies! I’m sure you can attest to the guilty habit of buying products that end up making their way to the bottom of your makeup bag. Perhaps you purchased a foundation a touch too light or a hair product that doesn’t quite suit your hair type. I cringe every time I look at my once-used MAC Mineral Foundation compact that sits neglected in my makeup drawer (unfortunately I’m not as naturally tanned in the winter as I had thought).

My solution?
Organize a makeup swap with your housemates and friends. When everyone comes together with their gently used products, it’s like taking a trip to Sephora. Not only can you gain satisfaction at finding a home for those untouched yet perfectly good products of yours, but you can get your hands on some new products to add to your collection without spending a dime.

Tips for throwing a makeup swap
• Clear a table (or 2) and set up your makeup into categories; eyes, skin, hair, lips etc.
• Supply your table with eye makeup remover, q-tips, cotton pads and sponges
• Put on music of choice (GNI playlists are never a bad idea)
• Set up some indulgences like cupcakes and bowls of candy; wine or champagne optional
