A second case of COVID-19 in the Queen’s community was reported on Monday afternoon by Kingston, Frontenac and Lennox & Addington (KFL&A) Public Health.

The individual followed the necessary protocols and is currently self-isolating, the University said in a news release.

“Queen’s is working closely with KFL&A Public Health and has detailed processes and protocols in place to respond quickly. Contact tracing is being conducted by KFL&A Public Health and all close contacts will be contacted directly by Public Health,” the University said. 

The positive test is the second reported case in the Queen’s community in the past five days. Queen’s confirmed a student had tested positive for the virus on Sept. 16, prompting Public Health to contact trace 40 people.

“Our priority is the health and safety of everyone, including students, staff, faculty and the Kingston community,” the University said.

Students can be tested at the Campus COVID-19 Assessment Centre in Mitchell Hall from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Friday, by appointment. To book an appointment, call (613) 533-2506.
