For fourth year in a row, just one team running for AMS Executive
At the AMS Executive, Undergraduate Trustee, and Referendum Groups information night on Jan. 18, only one team was in attendance for information about securing their names on the AMS executive election ballot.
Prospective Presidential candidate Zaid Kasim, Sci ’21, Vice Presidential (Operations) candidate Tiana Wong, ArtSci ’21, and Vice Presidential (University Affairs) candidate Ryan Sieg, Kin ’21, were present at the information session.

To secure their names on the ballot, the team must collect approximately 380 student signatures through virtual means. Once the ballot is validated at the Jan. 29 AMS Assembly meeting, the campaign period will begin on Feb. 1. On Feb. 9 and 10, students will be able to cast a vote of confidence or non-confidence.
While there’s also an open position for the Undergraduate Trustee, no potential candidates attended the election information session.
There is still an opportunity for students to get their names on the ballot, as nomination packages for all potential candidates are due on Jan. 25 at 12 p.m.
