Queen’s refuses to provide details about misogynistic Facebook page investigation

Queen’s confirmed on Wednesday it has investigated the misogynistic Facebook page Kings of Queen’s, but declined to provide any further details.

“The University has investigated the incident, and has taken appropriate action,” Mark Erdman, community relations and issues manager, wrote in a statement to The Journal.

“That is all we are permitted to say on this matter.”

After The Journal reported in November that the Kings of Queen’s Facebook page—which targeted students and spread anti-women messages—was run by a Queen’s employee, the University confirmed it was looking into the matter.

The employee, whose contact information is still published on the Queen’s staff directory, denied any knowledge of the Facebook page in November. The page, which had been live for two years, was removed on Nov. 27 shortly after The Journal contacted the employee requesting a comment.
