Queen’s remembers Isabelle Brisson

The Queen’s community is mourning the loss of Isabelle Brisson, Sci ’20.

Brisson passed away on July 2 while tree planting in Alberta.

Born and raised in Edmonton, AB, she excelled academically and graduated from the civil engineering program in April as a Chancellor’s Scholar.

Brisson completed an engineering internship in mining consulting in Vancouver between her third and fourth years of study.

Her family said she took every opportunity to cycle, canoe, kayak, hike, camp, back-country ski, and climb while on internship because “she was happiest when surrounded by nature.”

During her time at Queen’s, she also participated in many extracurricular activities at Queen’s and in the Kingston community.

Izzy deeply loved her family and friends and cherished meeting new friends. She was a good listener, offered wise counsel and encouragement, loved dancing, and strived to apply her skills productively.

A memorial service was held in Edmonton on July 14.
