The Queen’s Journal’ vs ‘Western Gazette’ Fantasy Football 2021: Week 12

With American Thanksgiving this week, the NFL will be providing the conversational fodder for millions of families across North America. Beyond watching the stylings of Dak Prescott and Dan Campbell, The Journal will be putting its fantasy football series on hold until after the winter break. So, for the last time this year, here are this week’s picks.

Starters: $96

Tom Brady, Quarterback, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Reeling from a poor outing against the Washington Football Team in week ten, Brady threw two touchdowns and recorded over 300 passing yards while limiting turnovers last week. Facing off against the Indianapolis Colts, a below-average pass defence, Brady should shine again this time around.

AJ Dillon, Running Back, Green Bay Packers

While AJ Dillon has yet to repeat his two-touchdown performance against the Seattle Seahawks from two weeks ago, he has received consistent touches since Aaron Jones’ injury. Dillon has a significant role as both a rusher and a receiver and he’s likely to use both against the Los Angeles Rams this week.

Davante Adams, Wide Receiver, Green Bay Packers

Davante Adams had two touchdowns and 115 receiving yards last week against the Minnesota Vikings. Adams has consistently recorded double-digit targets throughout this season, and facing off against a strong Rams defence, quarterback Aaron Rodgers should rely on his favorite target this week too.

Darren Waller, Tight End, Las Vegas Raiders

Darren Waller recorded 116 receiving yards last week against the Cincinnati Bengals and has recorded over 50 yards in three of the past four weeks. Facing off against a below-average Dallas Cowboys passing defence this week, Waller should continue to dominate as a top tight end.

New England Patriots Defence

The New England Patriots shut out the Atlanta Falcons last week, recording four sacks, four interceptions, and a defensive touchdown. Playing against the Tennessee Titans, who lost to the Houston Texans last week, the Patriots have a solid chance to repeat that performance in this outing.

Bench: $86

Russell Wilson, Quarterback, Seattle Seahawks

Russell Wilson has continued to struggle since returning from a finger surgery earlier in the season, highlighted by a loss to the Cardinals last week. Taking an average of three sacks per game, Wilson will likely continue to have protection issues this week too.

Saquon Barkley, Running Back, New York Giants

Barkley hasn’t recorded a touchdown in two weeks and topped 30 yards only once in the past three weeks. Facing a strong Philadelphia Eagles’ defence, Barkley should continue to struggle.

Tee Higgins, Wide Receiver, Cincinnati Bengals

Tee Higgins hasn’t scored a touchdown since week two against the Chicago Bears and has not topped 100 receiving yards yet this season. Facing off against a strong Pittsburgh Steelers’ defence, Higgins should have difficulty finding the end zone.

Noah Fant, Tight End, Denver Broncos

Noah Fant has been inconsistent over the past three weeks, including recording only eight yards in week eight against the Washington Football Team. Facing off against the Los Angeles Chargers, a top five passing defence, Fant’s role should again be limited in the upcoming contest.

Cleveland Browns Defence

The Cleveland Browns took a lopsided loss to the New England Patriots two weeks ago and nearly lost to the Detroit Lions last week. Facing the Baltimore Ravens, a top-three offence with a healthy Lamar Jackson back at the helm, the Browns will be facing a tough test this week.
