Rugby

The Women’s Rugby team kicked off their postseason over the weekend, beating the Brock Badgers 78-8 in the OUA championship semi-finals. With that victory, the women’s team not only adds another notch to their undefeated streak for the year, but they also qualify for the OUA championship final this Saturday against the Guelph Gryphons. The game is set to start at 7:30 p.m. on Nixon field.

The Men’s Rugby squad also started their postseason crusade with a win last weekend, handily defeating the RMC Paladins 34-0. With their victory, they remain undefeated for the year and will similarly advance to the OUA finals on Nov. 6 against the Guelph Men’s Team. Kick-off will be at 4:30 p.m. on Nixon Field.

Soccer

The Women’s Soccer team split their final doubleheader of the regular season last weekend, beating the York Lions in Toronto on Friday but falling to the same team at home on Sunday. Finishing the season off with an 8-2-0 record, the Gaels rank second in the OUA East division ahead of their postseason start this Nov. 3 against the top-seeded team in the OUA West, the Guelph Gryphons.

The Men’s Soccer team dropped both their final games of the regular season against York over the weekend. In doing so, they failed to qualify for the OUA playoffs, meaning they finished their 2021 season with a 4-4-2 record.

Rowing

The Queen’s Rowing team had an impressive showcase at the 2021 OUA championships on Saturday, taking home a combined 12 medals—5 gold and 7 silver—from their array of men and women athletes. In the tournament’s overall standings, the women’s squad placed second, and the men finished third. The team’s final outing of the season takes place this weekend at the nationally-scaled Canadian University Rowing Championships on Nov. 6.

Varsity Clubs

Lacrosse

The Women’s Lacrosse team finished their season over the weekend, placing second overall in the OUA Championship after falling to the Trent Excalibur in the final round of the tournament. That loss was their only defeat in both regular season and postseason play—the team finished off the year with an 11-1 record.

The Men’s Lacrosse team defeated the uOttawa Gee-Gees in the first round of the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) playoffs on Oct. 30, marking their entry to the Baggataway Cup this weekend, the CUFLA championship tournament.

As the tournament’s number two seed, their first opponent will be determined after the tournament’s first round of play on Nov. 5.
